Hervey Bay is a very dynamic coastal urban centre approx 300 kilometres north of Brisbane.
Hervey Bay is one of Queensland's best natural holiday and tourist destinations. Hervey Bay offers access to Fraser Island, which is the largest sand island in the world and World Heritage listed. There is also easy access to Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef.
Hervey Bay is bordered by 40 kilometres of pristine sandy beaches and is Australia's whale watching capital. During August to November, whales can be sighted breaching and playing with each other in the waters very close to shore. Visitors can take one of the numerous whale watch cruises during the whale-watching season.
If you enjoy watersports - diving, kayaking, yachting, water skiing, jet skiing, snorkelling and wind surfing are all here at Hervey Bay. Boating and fishing can be enjoyed in the estuary, from the beach, jetty or reef and game fishing tours are available as well.

Hervey Bay Environment
The Link Mobility Corridor is an 8km landscaped environmental
corridor for pedestrians and cyclists. It extends from Urangan
through the centre of the City to Pialba. The Link complements
the foreshore shared path which stretches approximately
13 kms along the coastline from Point Vernon to Urangan.
Participation in structured sport is lower in Hervey Bay than the
average across Queensland, with people preferring to participate
in unstructured activities such as walking, fishing, swimming,
archery, playing golf and cycling. Major sporting and recreation
reserves include the Hervey Bay Sports and Leisure Park (sports
include soccer, hockey, rugby league, tennis and softball), PCYC,
Walkers Road Recreation Reserve, NE McLean Oval (AFL) and the
Dundowran Equestrian Park.
